The Francophone Association of Microbial Ecology (Association Francophone d'E ́cologie Microbienne) aims to promote and enable the development and enhancement of research in microbial ecology. It was established in 2003 to bring together microbial ecologists of French-speaking countries. AFEM organizes a General Conference of around 200 people every two years (odd-numbered years) and the tenth symposium will take place in November 2021. A focus of AFEM is activities aimed at helping doctoral students and early career researchers to publicize their research work, with two calls annually for applications for financial assistance to enable them to participate in an international scientific event in English (colloquium, congress, symposium, workshop, etc.), on themes directly related to microbial ecology. Members of the Francophone Association for Microbial Ecology will enjoy benefits from FEMS membership from per 1 January 2021. |
