Late Breaking Abstract Submission To FEMS2023 Now Open Till 1 May!
 

You can now submit your late breaking abstract to FEMS2023 to be considered for a poster presentation in the main topics of our Congress Programme!

Outstanding Early Career Microbiologist Award

FEMS is delighted to announce the winner of the Outstanding Early Career Microbiologist Award, awarded to an outstanding early career microbiologist in recognition of an excellent body of published research and future research potential.

It our pleasure to announce the 2023 winner of the Outstanding Early Career Microbiologist Award, Khaled Selim of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Organismic Interactions Department and member of VAAM.

Khaled is a Junior Group leader at Cluster of Excellence “Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections” (CMFI), Tübingen University, Germany since 2019. He made ground-breaking discoveries with respect to signaling mechanisms and function of carbon dioxide metabolism in cyanobacteria. Besides his outstanding publication record, his teaching experience and his being acknowledged through many scientific awards, he has also shown very good scientific outreach as a lecturer at different national and international conferences and refereeing for several journals. These achievements led to his being recognized with this Outstanding Early Career Microbiologist Award.

The deadline for applications to the FEMS Summer School for Postdocs 2023 is closing soon! Don’t miss out on your chance to learn from our inspiring mentors, and build connections for a lifetime with your fellow postdocs.

  • Where? Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences in Split, Croatia
  • Who? Postdocs or individuals who have completed a postdoc within 5 years (excluding special leave)
  • Theme? Cutting-edge microbial technologies for a sustainable industrial future

Call For Proposals: Organize Your Own IMD 2023 Event

We invite interested individuals and organizations to organize their own International Microorganism Day event in their country on/around the 17 September 2023!

To participate, you can organize any type of event that showcases the diversity and importance of microorganisms including:

  • Public lectures or seminars
  • Microbe-themed art or music event
  • Exhibitions of microorganisms
  • Hands-on microbiology workshops or laboratory demonstrations
  • Science communication events for the general public
