Summer message for FEMS Editors

The period July-August is typically the period when the conference/summer holiday season is in full swing. The situation this year is of course different, but nevertheless we hope you’ll have a nice summer break.

Please enter your unavailability in ScholarOne. This will be helpful information for the Editors-in-Chief and administrators when assigning new submissions. Simply log in here, click on your name in the top right menu, go to “User ID & Password” and enter the dates (see screenshot below).
You can find more useful ScholarOne features in the online Editor user guide.
 
WMF (20-24 June 2021) - brief update 
 

Last week was the first World Microbe Forum – an online congress initiated by FEMS and ASM in collaboration with nine other international organizations. It was a global event with participants from 114 countries and an extensive program happening for all time zones.

We’d like to thank all of you who participated in sessions and helped make this inaugural conference a success!
 
Call for papers in microLife – Emerging role of chromatin remodeling in the persistence and elimination of microbial pathogens

Editor and EAM fellow Prof. Ulrich Dobrindt is creating a thematic issue on “Emerging role of chromatin remodeling in the persistence and elimination of microbial pathogens” for our journal microLife. This issue aims to present the current state of research in the field of chromatin dynamics in the context of host-bacterium interactions and to highlight common or different mechanisms of chromatin structure modulation that occur in the interplay of different bacterial pathogens with eukaryotes and that could potentially be used as a starting point for improved therapeutic and preventive procedures.

FEMS will waive the Open Access fees for all authors in this thematic issue. You can find the call for papers here. Feel free to contact Prof. Ulrich Dobrindt if you are interested to contribute.
