There are millions of microbiology historical facts out there! But does everyone know about them? Our #OnThisDay volunteer team is tasked to spread awareness of these via our social media, from discoveries to celebrations and birthdays! If you want to grow your science communication skills and get hands on experience with social media scheduling then make sure to apply before the deadline, 13 March 2022.

We released an unboxing video

A few months ago we received a Portable Microbiology Laboratory (PML) by Bob Metcalf, Prof. emeritus of California State University (USA) and creator of the PML!

The PML is a cheap and effective way of testing water sources for pathogens.

We have two new Ambassadors for India and Brazil

From 2022 FEMS is represented in two new countries, India and Brazil! We warmly welcome Prof. Rup Lal (The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi, India) and Prof. Rosane Schwan (Dept.of Biology, Federal University of Lavras, Brazil) to our growing Ambassador family.

Ambassadors promote FEMS mission, vision, and activities, spreading microbiology knowledge, connecting microbiologists and microbiological societies for benefit of humankind.

Prof. Isabel Sá-Correia and Dr Elisabeth Bik are recognized with the Special Merit Award

This award recognizes contributions to FEMS and the microbiological community beyond and in addition to research excellence. These awards are a recognition and thank you for the hard work of both.
