Early bird deadlines close in a few days!

We are excited to welcome you all to our Congress taking place on 9-13 July in Hamburg, Germany! Now with all abstract and grant decisions being sent, you can get one step closer to FEMS2023 by registering today. Make sure to take advantage of the early bird fees which end in the next two weeks, and save €130 on a regular registration!

Registration Deadlines

  • Early Bird Registration (bank transfer) – 30 March 2023
  • Early Bird Registration (credit card) – 11 April 2023
  • Normal Registration (bank transfer) – 11 June 2023
  • Normal Registration (credit card) – 13 July 2023

Members of FEMS Member Societies, students and individuals from certain countries get a further reduction in their registration fees.

Apply for our Summer School for Postdocs

Submit your application to the FEMS Summer School for Postdocs, happening on 4-11 September 2023 in Croatia.

This Summer School will will focus on cutting-edge microbial technologies for a sustainable industrial future and involve a combination of formal lectures, brainstorming sessions, problem-solving exercises and will finish with a small-group project design competition.

Join the International Microorganism Day team as a volunteer

The preparations for International Microorganism Day 2023 have started and this means we need more people to join our team!

We are looking to fill up 5 volunteer roles that will help us run our social media and website and create fun and engaging content.

Nominate for our Science Communication Award! 

This biennial award recognizes Europe-based microbiologists at any stage of their career that apply science communication and public relations to contribute significantly to the public discourse about science and evidence.

The issue covers the microbiology and epidemiology of bacterial-viral co-infections including the influenza virus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and SARS-CoV-2. All papers are Open Access!

Welcome to our new Journal Social Media Editor

We extend a warm welcome to our new Journal Social Media Editor for FEMS Microbiology Ecology, Fortunato Palma Esposito. Fortunato is a biotechnologist interested in the “Microbial World”, especially in the sustainable exploitation of marine microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and microalgae to identify and develop novel natural products.
