We would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to Dr Arnoud van Vliet for his incredible contributions as Editor for FEMS Microbiology Letters. As he steps down this summer as Section Editor for Pathogens and Pathogenicity, we express our deepest gratitude for his invaluable contributions.

We are also excited to announce the incoming Section Editor: Dr Conor Meehan, Associate Professor of Microbial Bioinformatics at Nottingham Trent University! Dr Meehan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in pathogenic microbes to this role. Welcome Dr Meehan!

Entries now open for the #MicrobeArt2024 Contest

Our much loved Microbe Art Contest is back again this year to support International Microorganism Day on 17 September 2024! Help celebrate the wondrous world of microbes by getting creative and sharing your art!

FEMS will be involved in the selection process and winners will be recognised on the IMD socials, in the FEMS Newsletter, and on the IMD website.

The FEMS journals are run by microbiologists, and for microbiologists. Every article published by us has been rigorously reviewed for soundness of science by our community of academic peer reviewers – and the not-for-profit journals support the microbiology community.
